Color by Corinne Bogdanowicz

Hollywood, CA – May 4, 2026 – Light Iron, the renowned full-service picture post-production facility, has entered a bold new chapter as a group of its employees have acquired the company’s assets from Panavision. Now fully employee-owned, Light Iron stands as a rare and powerful example of artists taking the reins in an evolving industry landscape.
The new ownership group is led by Ian Vertovec, Corinne Bogdanowicz, and Megan Marquis. Vertovec and Bogdanowicz, both acclaimed colorists, have been integral to Light Iron since its original founding, helping define its creative legacy. Marquis, a 13-year veteran of the company, will serve as General Manager, guiding operations and strategic growth. Original founders Michael Cioni and Peter Cioni were instrumental in completing the purchase and will continue their involvement as advisors to the Company.
This transition marks a defining moment for Light Iron, an organization that has weathered significant industry shifts in recent years and emerged reinvented, resilient, and future-focused. Under its new structure, the company remains committed to its core identity while embracing innovation and adaptability.
Light Iron will continue to operate under its established brand name from its flagship Hollywood facility, which has long served as the company’s creative home, while leveraging partnerships across the United States and globally to support productions wherever they are based. The company will maintain its comprehensive service offerings, including dailies, final picture finishing, and mastering.
Additionally, Light Iron will expand its proprietary Galixy software platform, a robust solution designed to support dailies workflows, visual effects pipelines, and streamlined internal collaboration. Developed initially to power Light Iron’s own operations, Galixy will now be made available to external partners and companies seeking more efficient, scalable post-production workflows.
As an artist-owned company, Light Iron places creative talent at the center of its mission. With a forward-looking approach, the team is investing in new technologies and custom workflows to better serve the evolving needs of filmmakers, studios, and content creators worldwide.
